The revival of the Beldi glass
There is no café in Morocco that has not used it to serve typical "nus-nus" coffee, tea or herbal tea. There is not a tourist who has not brought it back from his trip to Morocco to offer as a typical souvenir. This handmade product manufactured since 1940 and 100% Moroccan, had yet to know a dramatic destiny : in June 2013, the last glass factory in the country ( Sover, in Ain Sebaa - Casablanca) filed for bankruptcy, leaving customers and employees in a state of abandonment.
Because they could not resign themselves to the disappearance of this iconic object, produced by a know-how inherited from father to son, the Beldi group undertook to restart the activity by setting up a modern factory inside the Beldi Country Club and rehired Sover's old craftsmen team. If you visit Marrakech you should visit the Beldi Country Club which is one of our favorites spots in Marrakech . You will be able to watch live the making of these lovely moroccan glasses . And if you are in a rush , the glasses are sold in our store.
